Announcements
The Peconic Estuary Program (PEP) is pleased to announce the availability of $30,000 for the 2009 PEP Mini-Grant Program!
Grants up to $5,000 will be awarded for projects that increase public awareness of the estuarine environment and/or encourage active public participation in protecting and restoring the Peconic Estuary. PEP Project Suggestions Wanted!
The PEP is currently considering pre-proposals and ideas for projects in need of funding. We welcome project ideas from researchers, non-profits, and other entities interested in carrying out work in support of our Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. We encourage you to fill out our brief project description form and as funding becomes available, both through our annual National Estuary Program grant and through other sources, we will work with you to help you attain the necessary funds to carry out your project. PEP Unveils New "Eelgrass Management Plan for the Peconic Estuary"
In June 2009, the Peconic Estuary Program adopted an "Eelgrass Management Plan for the Peconic Estuary". This innovative plan details specific management objectives, actions and action steps to help protect and restore this valuable resource. To access the plan please click here.
